Challengers Class

Since 1968 the Challengers have met to discuss a variety of Bible related subjects taught by members of the class and invited guests.
As class members we are free to express opinions and discuss the topics presented each Sunday. Many of the commentaries written by Karen Armstrong, William Barclay, Marcus Borg, John Dominic Crossan, Bart Ehrman, Philip Gulley, Adam Hamilton, Brian McLaren, Elaine Pagels, John Shelby Spong, and Leslie Weatherhead have been the basis of our class discussions.

Our class members also serve local missions including the Benevolence fund, Friendship Feast, Friendship Garden, Habitat for Humanity, Lincoln School tutoring and Survivor Resource Network. We support each other through prayer and meals whenever needed. Class members participate in a number of church activities including choir and handbell choir, Nativity Festival, funeral dinners, youth Sunday school teachers and church greeters.
We meet annually for a class picnic.
